Lynwood Homes was founded in 1989, but the history of building for it's owner, Hugh Hall, goes back much farther than that. He was born and raised in Jerome, Idaho, son of a farmer, grandson of a Yugoslovian carpenter and cabinet maker. Though his father farmed in summer, he spent his winters in his basement woodshop. It was here that Hugh  learned the skills of cabinet and furniture making from father and grandfather.
After years of practiciing this skill, while graduating from Idaho State University, working and living in southern Idaho, then moving to Oregon,
Hugh decided to follow his love of construction, and become a builder.
 His philosophy is simple; build each home as if he were going to live in it himself. To that end, he is very focused on each home during consruction. He is on site every day, making decisions and guiding the finished product. When it comes time to do the finish, Hugh is the finish guy. He does all the millwork, sets the tile and stone, installs the cabinets and finishes the countertops.
As you may imagine, Hugh does not build 300 houses a year. In fact, two to three homes a year is just about the maximum he can physically handle.
